Phone Option

Add or remove an Equifax Fraud Alert by phone

1. Call 800-685-1111.
2. Say “agent.”
3. Select Fraud Alert from the menu options.
4. Follow the prompts to verify your identity.
5. You can then use the automated system to add or remove your fraud alert.
6. If you experience any issues, press “0” to speak with a live agent.

Important Notes

• When you add a fraud alert with one credit bureau, the other two are automatically notified.
• When you remove a fraud alert, you must contact each bureau separately.

US MAIL OPTION

You may also mail your request using the form along with your proof of identity. The mailing address and required proof of identity are listed on the form.
